The Illinois Department of Public Health, Tobacco-Free Communities Program
has adopted a policy to disallow funding to any institution, organization,
or agency that receives funding from the tobacco industry or related entitities.
The following is an example of language used our RFAs:
IDPH will not award grant funds to any applicant that is in current receipt
of any grant monies or in-kind contribution from any tobacco manufacturer,
distributor, or tobacco-related entity. In addition, IDPH expects that
a grantee will not accept any grant monies or in-kind contribution from
any tobacco manufacturer, distributor, or other tobacco-related entity
for the duration of the funding period.
Grantees are required to attest to the above requirement.
