NATIONS / TOBACCO CONTROL COUNTRY PROFILES
NATIONS - the National Tobacco Information Online System is a collaborative
effort of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tobacco-Free Initiative,
the American Cancer Society (ACS), the World Bank, and CDC. It incorporates
several sources of data to provide country-specific, national-level information
on a wide variety of tobacco control issues: tobacco use behaviors, smoking-related
disease impact, national tobacco control laws and regulations, tobacco
economics, tobacco industry organization, and tobacco control programmatic
interventions. See http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/nations.htm
.
NATIONS is modelled off of the American Cancer
Society publication, "Tobacco Control Country Profiles," which
provides a tobacco control status report for 197 nations and territories.
