Company Limited (CTC) is popularly recognized as one of the leading companies
in Sri Lanka. It is the country s sole manufacturer of cigarettes and
its dynamic approach to business has earned a prominent place amongst
the nations highest performers. Through many
years of doing business in Sri Lanka, CTC has been successful in effectively
fending off competition, resulting in a quasi monopoly situation. More
than 90% of the country s Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) trade is involved
with the sale of cigarettes. CTC s success was based upon the fact that the organisation embarked on purposeful, deliberate and focused initiatives coincided with a new meaningful vision. Every employee
had to truly understand, believe and live the vision; walk the talk easy
to say but in reality a daunting task. A well thought out effective communications
package was put together to carry the message to every level of the organisation.

and eager to understand the new strategy. Training, development and effective internal communication greatly improved work practices in all areas of the business, from the farm to the retailer. This, coupled with a caring attitude towards the environment and safety, are some of the many factors that have led to success. We have provided
a total integrated solution (HRM, Payroll & Time Attendance) for CTC
- Ceylon Tobacco Company (member of the British American Tobacco Group
UK) one of Sri Lankas prestigious manufacturing companies. The payroll module processes the salaries of approx 650 employees of three categories - expatriate, executive &non-executive, having multiple & complex calculations on salaries, allowances & incentives. The system also processes bonuses for different time frames of monthly, quarterly & annual basis. The system is also integrated with the Time Attendance solution to capture & process attendance & attendance based incentives, location based user configurable incentives & allowances and also handles multiple shifts & roster scheduling. The HRIS system also generates a wealth of Management Information Reports for management & analysis purposes. After evaluating
many options including International software houses, we decided to select
a local company with the right capabilities to partner us in this project |
